Single Of The Week – Low Chimes – Sleepwalking

Sleepwalking sleeveToday sees the release of the debut single by Low Chimes; ‘Sleepwalking’.

It is not actually the first release by Marianne, Jack, Lachlan and Rob, who make up Low Chimes, as they previously released two critically acclaimed EPs (and filmed an Indie Kitchen session) as ‘Hot Feet’.

Prior to release ‘Sleepwalking’ has picked up BBC Radio6 Music airplay, especially from Lauren Laverne and Tom Robinson.

The new single, along with the rest of their debut album, which is due for release in Autumn 2017, builds on the ‘Hot Feet’ sound and shows real quality. Low Chimes’ sound goes well beyond the too easily used label of “Alt-Folk”.

Regarding the name change, singer/guitarist, Marianne explains, you only have to Google ‘Hot Feet’ to understand why they decided to change to Low Chimes. Not only did ‘Hot Feet’ sound like a salsa band, but they are not into foot fetish!

With a new name, a fresh start, Low Chimes are definitely a band to watch in 2017. Catch them supporting Sam Brookes across the UK during late April and May 2017.
